Description: Rob (Sewers and Strippers, City Terror, Driving Home For Christmas) is back with a tropical level. The pack includes both Wet Dream & Tropical Alien Massacre.
Design: "Tropical Alien Massacre" introduced Rob's "Hawaii Theme" that bears some resemblance to "Duke Caribbean" Mission Pack. The overall architecture is good - the buildings and the inner yard look very convincing and the indoor areas have a moderate amount of details. The surrounding rocks have been given some good looks by sloping & shading them which makes it all look very nice with the light blue water and the new texture set.
Gameplay: The gameplay flows along the lines of keys & a bunch of monsters. The map shouldn't take you more than ten minutes - it's fairly easy with a good amount of health & ammo and some good respawn attacks. There are a few inside-jokes and community references which make it all the more enjoyable to a community guy like me.
Innovations: All files have been neatly packed into a grp and the level (along with Tropical Alien Massacre as E1L2) can be launched via a batch file. Points for that and for the theme.
Conclusion: A sunny tropical map that's over in less than ten minutes. Looks nice and the theme feels fresh but is very typical in terms of gameplay.
