Winter 2023-2024:

March 9, 2024: Doom E1M2!

Ever heard of a remake of Doom's E1M2? Neither have I, but StarCraftZerg (who hasn't appeared in these pages since Miner Complications) made one anyway. His Nuclear Plant 2024 is a thoroughly enjoyable map, so give it a go.

February 24, 2024: A Space Oprah!

MRCK recently finished his reinterpretation of Lunar Apocalypse, so check out Lunar Apocalypse 3072: A Space Oprah.

February 4, 2024: Aftershock!

This one too took a few more months than I intended, but I really wanted to play Ion Fury's DLC, Aftershock, twice before writing a review. So here's Aftershock.

January 28, 2024: 2003!

I'm trying to resume uploading MSDN map packs collecting all Hot Maps from every year. If you check the Hot Maps section, you'll see that the 2003 package has been uploaded. It was a great year, btw, with 54 Hot Maps released (although some of them were "out of the grave" maps)!

January 22, 2024: More Boxes and Doors!

Oh look, it's a non-weekend update, but here's Boxes and Doors 2, a space map worth 94 points (and a sequel to, you guessed it, Boxes and Doors).

January 14, 2024: Shrapnel City 2096!

Remember LA Meltdown 2047 from two months ago, a map where MRCK combined the map themes of LA Meltdown into a single map? Well, now he's done the same to Shrapnel City's 11 maps, re-interpreting the whole bunch of them in his Shrapnel City 2096. It's a wild ride, so buckle up!

January 1, 2024: New Year!

Okay, I meant to post this yesterday, but my schedule just wouldn't allow it. (Not that I was doing anything important, just playing BF2042 with a few friends and drinking.) The year 2023 has passed. Russia's cruel, senseless war of genocide and imperialistic conquest still rages on with no end in sight, with a few more Ukrainian cities knocked out of existence ("liberated") by the Rashist invader.

Anyway, here's a great way to end the year (well, it ended yesterday, but whatever); check out Alex Pistol's Simpler Times for one of the most impressive maps ever created for our beloved Duke3D.

And the moment you've all been waiting for, here's how 2023 fared in terms of new releases reviewed on MSDN compared to previous years:
2004: 50 new releases
2005: 36 new releases
2006: 30 new releases
2007: 21 new releases
2008: 40 new releases
2009: 34 new releases
2010: 26 new releases
2011: 21 new releases
2012: 29 new releases
2013: 28 new releases
2014: 22 new releases
2015: 19 new releases
2016: 24 new releases
2017: 13 new releases
2018: 20 new releases
2019: 11 new releases
2020: 15 new releases
2021: 23 new releases
2022: 16 new releases
2023: 20 new releases

Note; I'm being slightly dishonest and including BattleDuke Contest Pack. I haven't reviewed it yet, as I haven't been able to summon the will to deal with a particular map in it, but I'll get to it soon.
Funny fact, but without MRCK & William Gee we'd have gotten only 11 new releases in 2023...

December 17, 2023: WG Lady Killer!

We're fast approaching Christmas and the year's end, but there's still time for you to get new maps out to celebrate the outgoing year. Here's one more map that we can add to this year's statistics, check out WG Lady Killer for some Duke Nukem Forever themed action.

December 3, 2023: Neo LA Meltodwn!

MRCK is back again with another somewhat experimental map. Here's LA Meltdown 2047, MRCK's reinterpretation of the entire first episode of Duke3D.
