At first I'd like to say a few words about the installation process. It's a big pain in the butt. First you create a directory for Armageddon and unzip this there. To lear how to install you have to unzip first, then unzip another zip which includes manuals and take a look at the instructions. Manual claims that Armageddon is a stand-alone but it requires you to copy a copy of Duke3d.grp to Armageddon directory. Manual also forgets to mention that you also have to unzip (also in - if you don't do this you won't be able to see anything. After this you run install.exe which extracts a lot of files to your directory. Troubles are not over after this - at least for me Armageddon kept crashing.

The game itself is pure chaos. Levels are quite small which really isn't a problem - I like small dukematch levels. However the number of bots is catastrophic. Normally you die inside a couple of seconds after you respawn. Weapon given during respawn is powerful enough to kill anyone. Other weapons are interesting and look quite good but are useless. And you won't find much time to gather weapons. By modifying .bat files you're able to decrease the number of bots but that won't do any difference - bots are still way too hard. And when you get hitted the screen keeps bouncing. Levels seem to be ok and have some good innovations, like the blood in the first level, but you won't be able to do much exploring.

So what we have is a below average beta-version which is impossible to play. Textures, ok levels, ok weapons are all useless because the enemy fire is way too dangerous. Installation process is annoying & complex.
